As a rural campus we have a strong environmental focus with students caring for chickens, fish and a lizard. We are also a Landcare school with students involved in seed collection and propagation programs in conjunction with the local Landcare group. This is combined with our mixed age group rotation of activities each Friday. During this time, the students cook using seasonal produce from their vegetable garden, engage in Landcare and gardening activities and participate in opportunities to develop their skills using iPads.
For added convenience, a bus also runs between our 2 campuses making it easy for families to send their child to school. These buses operate to and from school daily in the Lal Lal, Durham Lead and Meredith areas.
At Scotsburn we are committed to providing engaging Literacy, Numeracy and Humanities programs which improve student learning outcomes. Literacy and Numeracy support programs are also provided across the school in the form of Mini Literacy, Multi Literacy and Quicksmart Maths. We use a variety of eLearning resources which are also incorporated into all areas of the curriculum which include desktop computers and iPads.
In addition to the specialist programs, Scotsburn offers a wide variety of extra- curricular activities for students including excursions, sporting opportunities, debating teams, school concert, theme days, camps with Buninyong students from Grades 3-6 and a Sleepover for Grade Prep-2.
